It’s been ten years since Josh T. Pearson, as the singer of Lift to Experience, released an album, the critically acclaimed The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads. The band soon disbanded after the release, with Pearson almost disappearing from the music scene altogether. Thank the Lord he’s back!

The design is as simple as possible, we didn’t want to add a layer of noise to something that is as it is, barren and heartfelt. However one major part to the site however is Josh’s input of humour which skewers the reverence somewhat.

The hardest challenge for this site was creating the "Focus Pull" effect used on page load. We used jQuery to alter the RGBA alpha settings for the CSS3 text-shadow property and text colour to create the blur effect on the text.

A gentle sequence of preloading and image scaling for the full-bleed backgrounds from in-focus to blurred before revealing the text completes the effect.
