Jesper Kyd is an award-winning Danish composer who's best know as being the man behind the beautiful soundscapes and music of the Assassin’s Creed games. Kyd’s compelling and distinctive scores feature a diverse array of orchestra, choir, acoustic manipulations and electronic soundscapes.

We were very lucky to be given free reign by Jesper to do whatever we liked with the design and build, we knew it had to 'fit' with his style but we also knew we could try things out from a different angle. We worked on the design and technology in tandem and came at the site from the angle of what it could do, this led us to start from the perspective of the music first and foremost. We didn't just want a music player we wanted the site to be immersive and atmospheric, much like Jesper's work itself.

We wanted the site to seamlessly transition between each of Jesper's soundtracks and that meant using AJAX so the music continued uninterrupted. It's fair to say we went all out on this one! The site is a responsive layout with the added complexity of having dynamically loaded audio playlists and different sections of the page refreshing each time a link is clicked.

Behind the scenes we used some tried and tested Wordpress plugins to make this easy for Jesper to manage including Adminimize and Attachments Pro
