Grinderman is Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn P. Casey and Jim Sclavunos. Be very afraid!

The original Grinderman website, which went online to coincide with the first album release, was all screaming monkeys, pouring rain and strobes. The new album is a different beast altogether… Cheerleaders, heathen children and the spine of JFK wrapped in Marilyn Monroe’s negligee. Gulp. The music? Warren Ellis described it as "like stoner rock meets Sly Stone via Amon Düül", "very diverse", and "psychedelic." With all these things in mind, your typical band website just wouldn’t cut it.

So we were given footage of a wolf prowling round a marble bathroom and told to get on with it. Then things went awry, the wheels fell off so to speak, a video of a man (Buddha?) with his eyes on stalks appeared, then footage of Warren shooting a mouse with lasers from his eyes, then Nick dancing as a Roman centurion. We lost the plot.

Full screen video backgrounds and jQuery driven AJAX page loads make this a huge undertaking. We must thank the guys at Flowplayer for creating a custom video player for us as well.
