Remixes 2: 81-11 is a compilation album by electronic behemoths Depeche Mode. The album features tracks spanning their entire thirty year career. Hang on 'thirty' years!!

We've done quite a few online bits and bobs for Depeche Mode and Mute over the last few years and this project was an interesting one as it was not only a website but also an interactive Spotify advert. We developed two versions built around a core codebase that was easy to update and resized for each platform with some nifty JavaScript and CSS.

This site and subsequent Spotify ad is an complete version of the Remixes 2: 81–11 booklet, however one that you can explore and interact with. The links take you to relevant sites on the web for artists, tracks and videos.

The background effect of an old CRT screen close up was achieved using stacks of overlaid PNG's animated using jQuery. They subtly flicker, fizz, boil and slide in relationship to the user's mouse.
