It's more than ten years since Michael Nunn and William Trevitt left the Royal Ballet as principle dancers and started BalletBoyz. With BalletBoyz their great gift has been to make dance exciting and accessible, with emphasis very much on exciting.

We sat down with Michael and Billy and talked about web likes and dislikes and we showed them sites we had done and also sites we like. This formed a clear picture about what they wanted... Which was clarity, information and colour. The site frankly is simply a conduit by which the sheer excitment of the BalletBoyz is shown and shown in the most obvious and energising way. Of course how this works made for a very complicated site so it took a few versions before we were all happy with the outcome. We then set to work in making the site as accessible and quick and fun to use as possible.

This one was a beast to make! There's a lot of content and it all needs to be cross-linked in the CMS. It's a responsive design that adapts to the users screen width, there's also an ajax driven grid which contains multiple embedded videos that need to communicate with each other when they play.

We came to this project with high expectations. We always do. Several years of frustration with our existing website meant that we did not want to compromise on the new design. But we also only had a limited budget! From the off EVIL got it and spent the time to find out exactly what we wanted, or didn't want, before a line of code was entered. Their creativity, planning, flexibility and execution were all excellent and they delivered. We are delighted with the final product and I would have no hesitation in recommending EVIL.

Ballet Boyz are a dance phenomenon. With a new troupe and new production The Talent, they're launching their boldest venture yet. We're really chuffed to work with them and to have designed and built something that they're really pleased with.
